Central Florida Cruise Club / Boat Tree Marina Cruise Club Joint Cruise Review
The first official “CFCC/BTMCC Joint Cruise” kicked off Friday with some members arriving at Boat Tree Marina – Sanford in the afternoon, then a couple more boats later around 5PM and a couple more around 7PM. Docktails were served around 6:30PM with one of Boat Tree’s members and staff joining in on the many different conversations.
Later that evening some folks decided to hit the neighboring mall and grab dinner out while others headed up to the marina’s restaurant to check out the new menu. With much success the menu looked good, and the food and service was even better. We all met back up in the restaurant and made our way back to the docks for a few more stories and then off to bed.
Saturday morning came with the addition of more CFCC boats as well as drive-ins and a few more BTMCC boats as well. After a couple minutes of who’s going with whom, everyone decided to take their own boat for the ride. By 10:30AM the cruise North to Blue Springs was under way. With all boats making it up without a hitch, we all disembarked on to shore and found a nice shady spot with enough picnic tables to unpack on and have lunch. While some skipped lunch and went straight for the spring, by the time they were done and came back to the picnic spot, the next group headed up and enjoyed the crisp 72 degree water.
By 2:30PM we all headed back to the marina and relaxed by the pool at Captain’s Cove which oddly enough was also a crisp 72 degrees.
By 6:15PM both the CFCC and BTMCC met on the docks and headed to the restaurant for dinner and more fun.
The 50/50 was won by the Greens and 2nd prize was won by the Forringers. Congratulations to both new members. With stomachs full, we all made our way back to the docks for more meeting and greeting. With the thought of pancakes on our minds we all headed off to bed and woke up to the smells of eggs, hash-browns, bacon, sausage and waffles. An entire feast put together on the dock by our new best friends -the BTMCC.
With beautiful weather all weekend long and the opportunity to talk with old friends as well as make some new ones the cruise was a success and agreed by all – “we need to do it again”. A big, BIG THANK YOU! to all who attended, the BTMCC for a spectacular breakfast, Boat Tree Marina’s staff for an exceptional launch, recovery and facility and Captain’s Cove Restaurant for catering to our every need.
