We are planning a trip to Hammock Beach Marina on August 20th-22nd. This is a new site for our club along the Intercoastal Waterway in Palm Coast.

It is a new marina, and they provide a shuttle to the beautiful Hammock Beach Resort. Check out the website at www.hammockbeach.com.

The rate is $2.25 per foot with a 30′ minimum. They have floating docks, pool, hot tub and showers at the marina. Free Wi-Fi, no CATV. Dogs are welcome, as long as they are walked in designated areas.

The great thing about this cruise is you can come when you like & leave when you feel like it with no reservations or slip fees!! For those who have never been to the Glen please look up their website for some quick info and pictures.

Coming out of Astor up the St . Johns to the mouth of Lake George then slight northwest heading to the Glen ( 11 o’clock heading) should bring you to the entrance then follow the canal in. We will be serving Hot Dogs on Saturday afternoon so bring what you like to add to the festivities.

With the recent concern regarding generators and safety we have spoken with the folks at Astor Marina by the Bridge (across from Blackwater Inn) for anyone who would rather stay there & plug in for the night. They charge $ 42.50 incl. electric for any of us on Friday or Saturday. It is approx 25 minutes from the Glen, and there is a restaurant on premises. The phone number is 386-749-4407. The marina has recently been re-done and is very nice. There is the nice ramp in Astor (beside Blackwater off St. Rd 40), and for those who want to take a longer ride you can drop in at Crow’s Bluff in Deland.

This is always a fun gathering so please let us know if you can make it!!

Silver Glen Cruise Review

RAINED ON BUT NOT RAINED OUT as we all enjoyed a wet but fun time at the Glen this weekend!! The sun was out & hot for most of the time but clouds were ever present.

A total of 9 boats & 1 drive in shared the cool waters and some great early & late hot dogs and side dishes. A special thanks to The Gilberts for helping us with the grill space to keep those dogs movin!

Several dingy rides were had by the gang and the 50 / 50 was won by Ana Baro and all in all a lazy August cruise.
