Several boats arrived at the island on Thursday.
By Friday, 12 CFCC boats arrived and started the Margaritaville weekend. The docktails were plentiful, delicious and filled everyone up. The weather allowed us to stay outside till well into the night.
Saturday was a clear windy day with a bit of chill in the air. The scavenger hunt brought out the competitive nature in the group, causing a controversial sand dollar submission. The competitive nature continued with the crazy hat contests and brought out one male member wearing his bright red island style underwear, (won’t identify him due to request from his wife) but he missed first place due to an outstanding effort in a crazy hat with lights, bells, whistles, and other items. The three guests that judged the event were better than the American idol judges! The treat of the night were the cheeseburgers in paradise right out of the Margaritaville, and all the well-made side dishes were delicious. After dinner the fire pit was lit and many stayed warm at the fire.
On Sunday many boats began to depart and headed home with four boats staying until Monday. Once again Caladesi provided an excellent location for a great cruise!
I would say the Mardi Gras cruise in Cocoa last weekend was a success. Kudos to Kenny and Carol Moore for braving the winds and being the only crazy oops, I mean, adventurous boaters to arrive with their boat!
We had 10 people Friday night for the clubhouse festivities. Most of us sat out on the porch; enjoyed the beautiful scenery and weather, (being on the leeward side of the building), and swapped tall tails till dark. Then inside John Condon and Jerry Fitzgerald played their guitars and harmonicas entertaining everyone with their music.
The wind picked up a bit over night and was a little uncomfortable for the Moores, but they held out and enjoyed visiting the area by truck on Saturday.
Saturday evening 16 of us met for dinner at Norman’s Raw Bar and Grill. The 50-50 Raffle was won by Judy and Bill, Jan & Jer Broadhurst’s Cocoa Marina friends. The pot was $40. $20 to the club.
After dinner most went over to the Mardi Gras to watch the parade and grab for more necklaces. It was a breezy, chilly night, perfect weather an outside event.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the cruise!

The weather was great for chili — cool at night and sunny and nice for our get together. We had 7 boats on Friday and 2 more floated in on Saturday morning, totaling 9, with 3 drive-ins for the meal.
Chili was served at 4 pm, and we had 7 bowls to choose from. Judges chose John and Barb Offineer for first place and Doug and Terri Jarrett for second place. Gift cards and Tums were awarded, and the 50/ 50 was won by Jer and Jan Broadhurst after she pulled her own ticket. Great weekend was had by all that attended.
Thanks Ron and Peg
