Spend a weekend of fun in the beautiful city of  Sarasota at the Hyatt Marina. The amenities at the Hyatt are the clearly some of the best offered at any Marina in the state. Come and join us for a weekend at a world-class resort. Read below from a brochure description of the Sarasota Hyatt:

Envision swaying palm trees, striking rock formations, an inviting lagoon with a fine mist spraying up from cascading waterfalls around its exterior as you sip on a cool drink and admire the fluffy white clouds in the sky. This “tropical island paradise” is the pool complex at Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Relax on our spacious sundeck in a comfortable lounge chair and take in the beautiful tropical garden scenery, read a good book or sunbathe. Splash around in the 130-foot, resort-like, free-form pool with zero-depth entry, or get in some refreshing exercise by swimming laps. At the end of the day, there’s nothing better than soothing away tired muscles in the spacious whirlpool spa. Treat yourself to lunch by the pool or an afternoon cocktail and snacks delivered right to your chair. The Hurricane Hut is open each day from 11:00 am to sunset with delicious food and drinks for the entire family. The Hyatt is a 1st class hotel with 130 ft pool, Tiki bar, pool deck, tables with umbrellas, fitness room, 32 slip marina, and marina-side restaurant.

Reservations have been made for the group. Nick will be handling all of the reservations with the Marina. Please contact Nick to reserve your slip. Address and contact info is below:

We have a full weekend planned so please plan to join us for some boating, relaxing and spa living!

Friday Night: CFC Social on the Docks @ 6:00 PM. Bring your favorite beverage to socialize, and then we will discuss dining options. Within a short walk are several great restaurants on the water or downtown.

Saturday: If the weather cooperates, we will take a boat trip and head to a restaurant on Long Boat Key (Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant). After docking, we can have lunch outdoors overlooking the water. http://marvista.groupersandwich.com/index.php
After lunch, we will head to the sand bar between Long Boat Key and Anna Maria Island for an afternoon of splashing, water, and fun. After playing in the Gulf water, we will head back to the Marina to spend the rest of the afternoon at the Hyatt’s award winning pool, Tiki bar and oasis. Later that afternoon, around 6:00 PM, we will have a Dock “NACHO BOAT” Party. Peggy and Nick will be making up Taco’s and the fixings for everyone. Please bring along a side dish (hors d’oeuvre) or dessert to share and enjoy some fun and casual food on the docks. Afterwards we can return to the pool to enjoy the evening.

Sunday: A leisurely day to head back home after finding a nice place in town from brunch.

LAUNCH DETAILS: Launch on Friday. On Friday, head out to Sarasota to Centennial Boat Ramp. Nick’s boat name is Nacho Boat, and can be hailed on Channel 68. They will launch at the Centennial Park around 12:00 PM. The “cruise” from the ramp to the Marina should take less than 15 minutes. Launch Location: Centennial Park Ramp 1059 N. Tamiami Trail Sarasota, FL, 34236 941-861-7275 Directions to Ramp: On I-75 South, at exit 210 take ramp right for SR-780 West, Road changes to Fruitland Park, turn right on US-41/N Tamiami Trail for 0.5 mile More info on Centennial Park Ramp is available at: http://www.centralfloridacruiseclub.com/resources/centennial-park-boat-ramp/

Parking: PLEASE NOTE: Centennial Park Ramp is posted “No Overnight Parking”; however, this is rarely enforced. Peggy and Nick plan to park their rig at the ramp (last year, they parked their rig there for nine days for Boat-A-Cade). However, if you are not comfortable with this, the Hyatt will allow us to park our rigs in a vacant lot across from the Hyatt. Please let Nick know if you want to park somewhere besides the ramp.

HOTEL INFO: (For drive-ins or anyone else) The hotel is a world-class attraction, and as such, charges a world class rate. If you want to stay in the Hyatt, please call 941-363-2601 and ask for “Boating Industry Rate.” The Hyatt does offer Florida Resident Rates (which is the best on-line rate – $175/night, but is non-refundable) and Senior Citizen discounts, so please be sure to see which rate works best for you. If the Hyatt is not in your price point, there are several other hotels close by that cater to the economic traveler. The hotel has free parking, and some of the rates include a free continental breakfast.
