Join us at Sisters Island for a relaxing weekend! For those that do not want to anchor out, we have made arrangements for slips at Harbor Town Marina, which is a short boat drive from the islands.
Sisters Island are two islands in the Banana River, South of the 520 bridge. There is a sand bar connecting the two islands that is submerged part of the day. It is a great spot that does not get too crowded, and there is usually no one there overnight, so we should have it to ourselves at night. It is a good spot for fishing, if anyone is interested. It is also a good anchoring out spot for those with dogs. If anyone is interested in tubing, Lee will bring his boat with our tube. It is a comfortable one person tube that you sit in, not a doughnut shaped tube.
We will be serving hot dogs with all the fixings for lunch on Saturday. Please bring a side dish to share. All other meals are on your own.
There are several restaurants on the water nearby, some of which have live music. The Sunset Grill is located on the Southeast side of the 520 bridge. They have 9 slips, and I was told they are usually empty. If anyone is interested, we could meet at the Sunset Grill Friday around 6 for dinner and a little music before heading out to the island, or we could go for dinner on Saturday.
Slips at Harbor Town are $.75 per foot with a coupon from their web site.
Please email Ana at anabaro@aol.com if you would like to join us. Also, please let me know if you will be anchoring out or staying at Harbor Town, and if you are staying at the marina, I will need the length of your boat. Also, let me know your arrival date and whether you would be interested in meeting for dinner at the Sunset Grill on Friday night. Please keep in mind that we cannot reserve slips there and there is always the possibility of getting there and not being able to dock.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the water.
