Cruise Leaders: Nick & Peggy Peterson

We had a great weekend at South Seas!!!! 10 boats made the journey, and had a great time. Each of the boats received a special hat to commemorate the weekend.

Peggy & I appreciated all the help and support over the weekend, we couldn’t have done without everyone’s support and help. Thanks to John & Linda Stibich for running the 50/50. Thanks to Richard Thomas for helping with the grill duties. Thanks to Fatine for the desserts delivered to the boats on Fort Myers Beach. And thanks to everyone else who helped pitch in!!!!

A Big Thanks to Cindy Thomas for sharing the following poem, which, once again, helped your cruise leaders fulfill their duties!!!

SOUTH SEAS

‘Twas the afternoon of the 9th & excited as can be,
to head west to our destination; at South Seas.
Trip officially started on the 10th, w/ 10 boats along for the ride,
& to get a jump-start, there was Nacho Boat, Pelican’s Roost & also Roll Tide.
All was well, traveling Highway 17
& then John couldn’t believe what he was seein’ !
Thought he saw a little black smoke,
but not enough, to make him choke.
Stopped again to check the brakes
Oh! My gosh, what a mistake !!
Nick, Richard & DJ got it in shape,
Used those zip ties & that handy duct tape !
While standing there hot & dizzy,
Never guess, that supermarket w/10 sodas was called – ‘Lizzies”.
Then we raced thru the new channel, watching those red markers fly right by,
‘Cuz we had to hurry & dock before the sun left the sky.
Had another snag along the way,
Richard’s GPS & electrical loosened in the sway.
Tired & exhausted, dinner was not a big deal,
We regrouped & met at SCOOPS; always ending a meal.

Thursday

Next morning was the most awesome day !!!!!!
Mama & baby manatees, were at play.
Hose water spray from Nacho Boats bow,
& manatees performed, in front of a crowd.
Rolling, playing & so at peace,
Not sure if we or manatees, were more pleased.
Mama manatee rolled on her back
& slapped water on her face, with her flap.
‘Manatee margarita’ is what they call that.
Baby got jealous & moved right on in,
& we all got a closeup of her hairy chin.
We knew, which was mamma manatee –
When she rolled over & we saw her belly ‘outie’.
Some boats arrived throughout the day at the dock,
While others rode bikes, trollies & shopped.
Walk-in BBQ voted for our group dinner,
To our surprise, BBQ staff, was very much slimmer.
Back on the trolley, we do a head count?
We do it twice & still have a doubt.
Guess who’s missing, that cell phone queen,
Fatine’s either on the cell or ipod, at the scene !
Time to walk, the sands and seashore,
View that gulf coast sunset, that’s what we came for. 

Friday

June 11, let’s take the boat, to the Island of Shells,
So, secured the cabin contents, because of those swells.
Lathered lotion, getting ready for the ride,
Next thing ‘u know, I hear the engine sigh. 
Whhhaaattt! it was a just a 10 minute glide …
We had already arrived, at that shore side.
Excited tonights our pot luck night,
Hot dogs & brats, now on the grill that can light.
Amazing, how it all comes together,
Variety of entrees & couldn’t be better.
Time to visit the sunset some more,
Grab the poles, bait & fishing lure.
Spectacular view & fish just a biten’
Ryan, AJ & John, pulling ‘em in fight’en.
THEN, game was on, Richard accepted the challenge to be fair,
Laughin’ & cacklin’ and 1 minute to spare,
Richard caught the LARGEST Red Fish, ever seen there !
Back at the dock, we checked out the boats,
Each of us, had something to gloat.
Margot & Robert won 1st place,
Searay – Pier Pressure – has great taste !!!

Saturday

Heard ‘Nemo’s on the Beach’ had the best menu,
It’s a 2 hour wait, they may not have told you.
Oh, and it get’s better yet,
That doesn’t include time, for tallying the check ! ! !
Waded back to the boat & Andy’s waving arms back & forth,
Only it’s to ‘friendly fender’ thieves — heading north!
He takes off without saying goodbye,
‘Cuz he was rescuing his fenders, now floating by !!
Next thing you know, Andy’s boat back in place –
& then everybody had such a stunning face.
Fatine hand delivered to each & every boat,
A chocolate cookie monster treat & ice cream tote !!
You’ll never guess, where she got that take-out,
Yep, that ‘Nemo’s on the Beach’, we all heard about.
Knotty Northerners heard a growl in the engine,
& someone said, ‘take that boat for a spin’.
THEN, the MIGHTY ONE said, to crank & listen intently,
Universal joints need work, so just run gently.
Couldn’t go home before another pool—side
This time, the group tried those very short pool slides.
1st rain fell, on the trip with this group,
So, of course, we ended the day, at famous SCOOPS !!

Other tidbits;

That ‘Continuum’ couple does a little of it all,
Boating, camping, & an occasional use, of the bowling ball.
JohnBoy & Barbara were the quietest crew,
& Gulfstream won the 50/50, from the ticket they drew. 
Ryan always fishing or fixing his line,
Can’t remember boating; just the catches he finds.
MaryLou always smiling with lead in hand,
Because Juliet is happy, that her master is GRAND.

Sunday

We’re sad & we wished everyone well,
That South Seas trip, gave us more memories to tell. :O)
